Time Machine
A scientist living in the Victorian era gets on the time machine he invented and suddenly finds himself in the year 802,701. Although he initially thinks that all the troubles of the world are over and that suffering has been replaced by beauty, prosperity and peace, it does not take long for him to realize that he is wrong. The time traveler first meets the human species called Eloi. However, he soon discovers how powerless these monuments of beauty, whose lineage dates back to the sublime culture of ancient times, actually are and what a childish fear of the darkness they have. The Eloi are right to be afraid, because there is a completely different type of people underground; The eerie Morlocks are waiting in ambush. Meanwhile, the only thing the time traveler who has lost his machine has to do is go down to those sinister underground tunnels of the Morlocks and get the machine back from them.
The Time Machine is one of the first and most influential depictions of time travel. First published in 1895, this masterpiece continues to fascinate generations of readers thanks to Wells' masterful storytelling and striking insight.
