Century of Enlightenment: This is what comes to mind when the 18th century is mentioned; When we say "Enlightenment", we first think of the dominance of science and reason. However, the 18th century is European with these characteristics. Indeed, scientific development in Europe gained enormous dimensions in this century; The industrial revolution ends and the modern technical age begins. It was in this century and in Europe that thought, based on reason and science, ruthlessly pointed its weapons and attacked the old order, that is, feudalism and its values, especially religion. It was primarily England and France that dragged Enlightenment Europe behind. Maybe only the East is left out of this. Neither a scientific awakening nor the dominance of reason: the 18th century is a lost century in terms of the East; That's why the East will live in pain for the next centuries. But since Europe created and experienced the 18th century "Enlightenment", it will also determine the developments in other continents of the world. In this respect, knowing 18th century Europe gives us the keys to subsequent developments; It is such a decisive century. As people of a society that experienced the Enlightenment movement, albeit belatedly, that century must be instructive for us first and foremost.
