Chilean writer Isabel Allende draws the reader into her heart once again in this memoir. It shows both where the first seeds of his novels sprouted and how his writing adventure began and developed. While doing this, he realizes that he has created a dream country in his heart. This country is both his homeland, Chile, and not. Isabel Allende, who went into exile after the 1973 coup in Chile and had to live in Venezuela for many years, says that this exile life and not being able to belong anywhere made her a writer. 'I never fit in anywhere; "I could neither belong to my family, nor to my social class, nor to my religion," he says. After these words, although he emphasizes that he is alienated from his homeland, it is clear that he writes with the mark that the politics carried out in his homeland and the magic of Chile left on him.
