The burning problems of non-Muslim communities living in Turkey and the multidimensional destruction they cause have often been ignored. None, Hukmunde directs its lens to two of the most burning issues of these issues, the non-recognition of the legal entities of non-Muslim communities and the problems they face in representation. The problems highlighted in the book are not cold legal issues, on the contrary, they are as important as bread and water in the struggle for the survival of Turkey's most vulnerable citizen groups.

Following the transition from Ottoman rule to the Republican era, non-Muslim communities were systematically discriminated against by laws and practices. The institutions responsible for representing these communities were deprived of their legal entities that would put them on a legal basis and were even destroyed over time. Articles regarding minority communities in the Treaty of Lausanne, which is considered the founding agreement of the Republic of Turkey, were ignored and this approach caused many new problems.

Absent Clause brings together the papers presented and speeches made at three conferences held at Galatasaray University, Ankara University and Istanbul Bilgi University between 2012 and 2014. These texts, in which experts from home and abroad, as well as many people from non-Muslim communities who are closely interested in the subject, share their experiences, include stimulating analyses, suggestions and opinions on discrimination against minorities and how it can be eliminated. The study is of great value as a reference source in the struggle to ensure that these communities, each of which has an ancient history in the lands we live on, are not considered 'non-existent'.
