Despite an unfortunate encounter with new assistant district attorney Mason Deveraux, Rose Gardner is selected as a juror in a murder case. During the trial, he realizes that the phone call he witnessed and the image he saw in the men's restroom he had to enter indicate that the defendant is innocent. But there is nothing he can do about it.

As if things weren't bad enough, her older sister Violet begins to pressure her to stop seeing her boyfriend Joe and use her luck with other men. On the other hand, Joe offers her to live together.
