We had previously published the first book of Jean-Paul Sartre's famous trilogy, "The Age of Reason", published under the name of The Ways of Freedom, and the second book, "Unlived Time". As you know, the "Philosophy of Existentialism", of which he is the creator, is a philosophy of constant search. In accordance with this philosophy, what Jean-Paul Sartre is looking for in this trilogy is freedom. The last novel of the trilogy, "Destruction", tells about June 1940. In other words, Paris fell into German hands. A small French community of men and women reacts strongly to this invasion. Sartre planned to add a fourth book to this series, which he called "Last Chance", but later gave up. These three interconnected novels, which are the product of the author's maturity period, are the most important document of Sartre's novel writing.
