After the general election in which it came to power in 2002, the Justice and Development Party followed a strategy aimed at establishing a hegemonic power structure both economically and politically. While economic policies were implemented using various variations of the neoliberal ideology that has risen since the 1990s, the AKP's political perspective was shaped by evolving from a populist policy to an authoritarian political behavior – both strategies remained in circulation, sometimes together and sometimes interchangeably, rather than in isolation from each other. The Road to the "New Turkey" deals with the tools and strategies that the AKP chose to use within the political history of Turkey, from the political field to social security policies, from the field of gender to urban transformation, from income distribution to the organized labor movement, from the rise of the Islamist bourgeoisie to the field of foreign policy. It consists of articles that do not neglect the point reached by the political hegemony under study. İsmet Akça, İrfan Aktan, U. Uraz Aydın, Ahmet Bekmen, Mehmet Sinan Birdal, Erbatur Çavuşoğlu, A. Ekber Doğan, M. Görkem Doğan, Yasin Durak, F. Serkan Öngel, Barış Alp Özden, Ece Öztan, Güven Gürkan Öztan, With the contributions of Julia Strutz and Erdem Yörük...
