Journalist-Writer Munzur Çem was born in 1945 in the Qurze hamlet of Hope village in Kiğı district of Bingöl.

He started his Health College education in Erzurum and completed it in Diyarbekir in 1966. In the following years, while working as a health officer, he also attended the night department of Private Ankara Economics and Commercial Sciences High School and graduated from this school in 1971. He passed the Court of Accounts Auditor exam in 1975 and worked in this institution until 1980.

Çem, who had been experimenting with writing since the 1965s, continued to write in the monthly Liberty Path magazine, which started publishing in 1975, and in the 15-day Kurdish-Turkish Roja Welat, which started to be published in Ankara in 1987, and in the following Liberty newspapers. The author's attempts to write in Kurdish (Kirmanji dialect) also coincide with these years.

In addition to his numerous published works and political articles, the author, who has been focusing on Kirmancca and Alevism since the 1990s, is a member of the Vate Working Group.

Munzur Çem describes this intense political and literary struggle in her own words as follows: "The articles in this book, which form a part of my writings, reflect primarily my views and political stance as an individual. This stance is based on the colonial practices that have ravaged the country of the Kurdish people for more than a hundred years, Therefore, they are also an attitude of rebellion and rejection against racist-chauvinist ideologies and policies; in short, against assimilationist efforts to destroy languages, beliefs, cultures and freedoms as a whole. Therefore, they also constitute a drop in the struggle for justice, equality and freedom of the oppressed. They reflect their wishes and aspirations."
