The Mountains I Visited with Yar: Amasya-Hardcover
Yapı Kredi Publications added a new one to the city monographs it prepared on Istanbul, Izmir, Ankara, Bursa, Trabzon, Edirne, Diyarbakır, Adana, Konya, Urfa, Balıkesir, Mersin, Mardin, Kars, Gaziantep, Kastamonu, Maraş, Denizli, Çanakkale and Kayseri: "The mountains I visited with my lover": Amasya.
While talking about Tokat in his travelogue, Evliya Çelebi makes sentences comparing it with Amasya. Tokat Castle has "a solid fortress and a strong embankment equivalent to Amasya Castle". In Tokat, "master engineers spent all their strength and built these city structures to be more artistic than the structures of Amasya city." As can be seen, Amasya is a touchstone. Amasya, which has traces dating back to the last periods of the Late Neolithic Age in the Doğantepe Mound, has, as Şevket Dönmez stated in his article, "its name coming from the depths of history (Amasea, Amaseia, Amasseia, Amaseia Hadriane, Amaseia Severiane Antoniane, Amaseia Severeia Alexandreia). Amasya, known as 'Kummeşmaha' in the Hittite texts and 'Iris' in the Ancient Period, is located on a narrow strait extending in the west-east direction, split between limestone and travertine cliffs, and becomes steeper in the north of the river. It also includes Harşena Mountain and the city's castle." In the eyes of the public, the love of Ferhad and Şirin found a home in Amasya. Şevket Dönmez said, "The reflection of the epic in Anatolia, which is about the love story of Princess Şirin, the sister of Mehmene Banu, the female ruler of the city of Erzen in Azerbaijan, and Ferhad, the master miniaturist of the region, developed on the basis of Amasya and left traces in the historical topography and historical archeology of the city. Today, Ferhad Mountain "The fact that the two simple-looking and adjacent tombs on it are attributed to Ferhad and Şirin is a current and popular reflection of the process related to this event," he stated in his article. "The mountains I visited with my beloved": Amasya, the city that is the cradle of a rich culture of people and beliefs, is discussed with its cultural heritage. For this book, Şevket Dönmez evaluated the city as an ancient city and described Pontic Cappadocia with the Oluz Höyük article. E. Emine Naza Dönmez emphasized the importance of Harşena Castle and Girls' Palace for the city, and also focused on the architecture of the Turkish Period. Muzaffer Doğanbaş focused on the wooden art of the region, as well as the religious world and its structures, and the palaces of the princes. I. Hakkı Göztaş examined the historical development and civil architecture of the city. Celal Özdemir talked about the rescue excavations carried out by Amasya Museum. Fergan Karaer wrote about the nature of the city, Mehmet Tektaş wrote about Amasya and Calligrapher Şeyh Abdullah, who was a school with his contributions to Turkish calligraphy, and Melih Duygulu wrote about the musical culture of the city. The article written by Kenan Mortan and Osman S. Arolat, in which they evaluate the city socio-culturally, plays an important role for Amasya as well as for this book, with its criticisms and suggestions about the present and future of the city.
In the book "The mountains I visited with Yâr": Amasya, prepared by Filiz Özdem, photographers Ali Konyalı and Tarkan Kutlu mirrored the visual dimension of the city.
