Vadideki Zambak
Balzac's work, which was published in 1836 but did not receive enough attention, on which he worked the most and which he called "my most perfect novel", was written with an impressive blend of romanticism and realism.
Felix de Vandennesse, who comes from an aristocratic family; He grew up in an authoritarian environment devoid of family love. His father calls Felix to Tours. He is fascinated by the beauty of Henriette, whom he sees at a ball he attends, and cannot forget her for a long time. By chance, in the Indre Valley, Felix meets Henriette again. He identifies Henriette's beauty with the name of the valley. Henriette is at least as pure and beautiful as "Lily Valley".
Felix, who had an unhappy childhood, and Henriette, who had an unhappy marriage, find common ground. We witness the war between the mind and the heart, with Felix's love on the one hand and Henriette's feelings for never thinking of betraying her husband and child on the other.
In the background of this sad and impossible love story, as seen in all of Balzac's works, is the structure of the 19th century French society and the social and political atmosphere of the period.
