Uzun Yaşam İksiri - Seçme Öyküler
Honoré de Balzac, the monumental name of world literature, published more than a hundred works that he managed to fit into his short life, first in daily newspapers, and then collected them under the title "Human Comedy". The six stories that make up this compilation were written between 1830 and 1840. Five stories are included in the "Philosophical Investigations" section of "The Human Comedy", where the historical picture of the social structure of France in the 19th century is drawn, and the last story, "Pierre Grassou", is included in the "Scenes from Paris Life" section. The common feature of these six stories is that they talk about painting; They present themselves as colorful, detailed and clear as a picture. It is not a coincidence that the stories called "The Elixir of Long Life", "Red Inn", "Master Cornélius", "A Drama by the Sea" have the effect of a Delacroix painting. The stories of Balzac, who is considered the founder of realism with the social and realistic framework he brought to literature, are extremely striking in this collection, not only because of their aesthetic power but also because they are novelesque adventures.
