Origin of Civilization Book Description One of the important phases witnessed by universal civilization is the emergence of cities. Urban civilization, which has left its mark on many developments in different areas of life, is a gift to us from the ancient "Near Eastern societies". In addition to the defensive walls, monumental structures and organized workforce that determine the urban phenomenon, the origins of the institutions in today's world began to form in this period. The first political formations also flourished during this period, writing entered human life, the legal system and schools, which were centers of education, showed themselves in the ancient Near Eastern cities. Again, the first literary works began to be produced in the Near Eastern cities, and these later became examples of western literature. The first seeds of science sprouted in the ancient Near Eastern cities. The oldest astronomers, chemists and mathematicians were trained here. Medical science first began to develop in these cities, and the first physicians and veterinarians treated their patients here. We know that the infrastructure system of cities was first implemented in the Near East. We understand from the ruins that sometimes survive today that irrigation systems, ponds and dams were built right next to the cities here. Likewise, urban planners first made their names known in the Near East. Again, the existence of well-kept, equipped and magnificent cities was first encountered here. It is understood that, among many other developments, performing arts entered human life during yearly events in the ancient Near Eastern cities. Western civilization was nourished by the cultural accumulation of the ancient Near East. The journey of universal civilization began in the ancient Near Eastern cities. Universal values spread all over the world through Ancient Greece, which evaluated and developed the civilization data that came to life in the Near Eastern world, and then Rome.
