Three Stories consists of stories shaped around doubt, love and loneliness. On the one hand, the work makes references to sacred texts, and on the other hand, it compares the reader with the harsh realities of daily life.

"A Simple Heart" tells the story of Félicité, a servant girl who clings to her Catholic beliefs in the face of loneliness. In "The Legend of Hospitable St. Julien", Julien whose fate was determined at birth; He was caught up in a passion for hunting that would lead to the death of his parents. In "Herodias", which is a reinterpretation of the narrative referred to as "The Baptism of John" in the holy books and the third story of the book, fatalism and cruelty again dominate. Each story is woven with the details of the medieval atmosphere and illustrated with the details of its legends. In addition to bearing traces of Flaubert's novels, Three Stories has a brightness and creativity that reflects the genius of the author.
