  • The literature on Türkiye's Kurds is trapped between the field of historical studies and the power relations of regional/global politics. Kurds are overwhelmingly the subject of academic studies "as the 'Kurdish Problem' in its domestic dimensions and as the 'Kurdish Problem' in the international context." The studies carried out to date, especially on the Kurds of Turkey, do not attempt to recognize/understand the population in question as the social dynamics of an entity in itself.

    There is no sociological study dealing with Kurds in Turkish academic literature. In this context, almost the entire intellectual field consists of limited/biased political approaches. The sociological meaning of this social phenomenon before us is left breathless under the intense/dominant and tense political atmosphere. Turkey's importance in the eyes of the West and its self-enclosed Kurdish policy kept the issue of "Turkey's Kurds" locked in Pandora's Box until recently. This book aims to attempt to remedy this deprivation.
