Baskin Oran, who started to be interested in the issue of non-Muslims since the 1980s, confronts the structure of thought called "state reflex" on the subject, which confines people/citizens into rote-learning patterns, in this compilation of writings dating back to that time.

Oran's sometimes tragic and sometimes entertaining articles, which reveal the intellectual transformation he went through without neglecting to make his own self-criticism on the subject, flow like a "film strip" with newspaper clippings and relevant news of the period.

Baskin Oran's writings, which discuss and evaluate the issue of non-Muslims in all its aspects, which is one of the problems that Turkey has not been able to overcome, not only show the ongoing distortions, but also reveal the steps that need to be taken for Turkey to become a rich mosaic of cultures.
