Kurds in the Publications of the Communist Party of Türkiye
The Communist Party of Turkey is the first party of communists from Turks, Kurds, Armenians, Laz, Greeks, Circassians and other nations and minorities. Their common value. Moreover, it will be seen that TKP is a "first" on some other issues as well. It is the party that first proposed autonomy as a status for the Kurds, was the first to advocate education in the mother tongue, and was the first to broadcast radio in Kurdish. Of course, we are talking about Turkey.
-Fevzi Karadeniz-
The Republic of Turkey was established as a nation-state based on Turkish-Islamic ideology. The society would consist of Turks or those who adopted being Turks. However, there were two major obstacles to achieving this: One was the non-Muslim peoples, who were recognized as minorities in Lausanne, and the other was the non-Turkish Muslim peoples. It was out of the question to Turkify non-Muslims. But it seemed possible to Turkify by assimilating Muslim but non-Turkish peoples, especially the Kurds.
The assimilation of non-Turkish Muslim Kurds through Turkification has not been realized... Kurds, who continue their national democratic demands despite all the measures taken, continue to prevent the realization of the Turkish nation-state project. For nearly a century, many methods, with ups and downs, have been applied to overcome the Kurdish obstacle to the nation-state, or in today's words, to solve the Kurdish Question. When methods such as denial of the Kurdish existence, language ban, exiles, unsolved murders, elimination of villages, etc. failed, the so-called peace negotiations that were tried also failed. And today, it has returned to a policy of denial based on the claim that there is no such people as Kurds and that everyone is Turkish. Just as in the 1930s, talking about the existence, language and culture of the Kurds is considered a crime and is threatened with punishment.
In its first congress in 1920, TKP showed that it was possible to solve the Kurdish Question through humane methods and in a permanent way. The book titled Kurds in TKP Publications, prepared with great effort by my dear friend Fevzi Karadeniz, clearly shows how TKP approaches the Kurdish Question and the permanent solution method it proposes. Now, let's watch how the Kurdish Problem, which the nation-state structure could not solve, can be solved by humane methods and without causing pain to the people, from Fevzi Karadeniz's book Kurds in TKP Publications.
