Turanian Tales
Prof. Dr. Ötüken's Ömer Seyfettin Collection prepared by Nâzım Hikmet Polat; It was created by adding other texts within the same framework to the relevant works, based on the books published by the author during his lifetime. Ömer Seyfettin is an author who has written beautiful and well-structured stories that overshadow the storytellers before him. We can list him at the top among the names that can represent Turkish storytelling in world literature. Some of the stories included in this volume are directly related to the issue of Turkish identity. What the others have in common is that they were inspired by family life and oral literature. We need to point out that these common aspects are social characteristics that deeply penetrate the Turkish identity and personality. We believe that there are many lessons to be learned especially from the stories "In old age? In youth?", "Forsa" and "Primo Turkish Child". None of the stories included in this volume, which were considered within the same framework as the "Turan Tales" booklet, were published under a pseudonym or pseudonym. 16 of the 17 stories here are copyrights of Ömer Seyfettin. One ("The Water That Everyone Drinks") is shown as an "Old Chinese tale".
