Toplu Yazılar (1978-2005)
Part I of the COLLECTED ARTICLES Kozmopoetika (2001: YKY), II. The section consists of Poeturka (1995: Adam). Although these two chapters come from previous books, their scope has been expanded with new texts published for the first time.
The words 'poeturka' and 'cosmopoetics1 in the names of the books are waiting to be read beyond being titles. Poeturka was used in the context of the poetics of the Republican Era (Turkish) Poetry, which indicates a different time period from modern and contemporary Turkish poetry.
Republican Period Poetry is the canon of poetry extending from the late 1920s to the late 1980s. Although this expression and the poetry institutionalized within that framework are still prominent, its 'poefurka' has now been replaced by new paradigms. A more inclusive "Turkish Poetry" period with different literary, cultural and social backgrounds, sources, poetic language and poetic pursuits has begun. Cosmopoetics, on the other hand, is counted among the distinguishing features of the new poetry-literature period, which is not specific to Turkey alone, and is discussed with concepts such as "transnational, global, postmodern, multicultural, in-between, hybrid" etc., and is more cosmopolitan and more intimate with the 'cosmos'. It was used in the context of poetics. Like the term "poeturka", "cosmopoetics" was not an approach that I specifically put forward here, but was mainly considered as general nomenclature that could help to understand the given situation in which we live and write.
I wrote from 1978 to 2005. As for Collected Writings, which compiles my writings and speeches: Despite the general concepts it uses, it is, in a sense, a book 'specific to its author'. Now, more than where I stand (if there is such a thing as "where I stand"), here is where, why,
how. I am aware that the book will not be read in the same way by Turkish readers with different literary agendas in different countries. I think my secret wish from the book is the desire to see myself again with a different eye, thanks to such different readings. >Number of Pages: 508
