Assyrians
There is a place called Turabdin in the southeast of Turkey. Turabdin, a Syriac word, means "Mountain of God's Servants". The ancient monasteries in this region contain the treasures and secrets of an ancient Christian community, heirs of the Apostles, Paul and Peter. This Assyrian community continues to speak the language spoken by Jesus in Palestine two thousand years ago. Assyrians and Tur Abdin are witnesses of our cultural roots in many respects. This region of Turkey lives with prayers and melodies. As a result of Sébastien de Courtois's journey to the region, this versatile work emerged. Assyrians, where travel notes, interviews, historical and archaeological information are intertwined, is a salute to a culture as rich as it is ancient.
