Most parts of the work Rays were written during the years when Bediüzzaman was in Eskişehir, Denizli and Afyon prisons. In addition to the Treatises in which the principles of faith are explained, letters written to the Nur students in prison and the defenses of Master Bediüzzaman and the Nur students in the Denizli and Afyon High Criminal Courts are also included in this book.
