Water Cycle Book Description Elma Children's Science Series once again greets its readers with colorful and entertaining content. We have the brand new Water Cycle, on one page we are on the clouds, on the other we are an elusive, heralding, tiny raindrop. We wander around the beautiful universe with the feeling of infinity. Not to mention, there is also a surprise game for two that is waiting impatiently for us inside the book. One day it can be in a cloud, one day in an ocean, one day in a lake, and one day in the body of a living being. Even everywhere at the same time... How does water affect life, climates and the earth on Earth throughout its never-ending journey? It's all in this book... Water forms oceans, seas, streams and lakes. It evaporates and mixes with the air. When this water vapor in the air encounters cold, it turns into water droplets or ice crystals. These also form clouds. The water in the clouds falls to the earth as precipitation such as rain, snow and hail. Layers of snow that accumulate on top of each other in high places or at the poles also form glaciers. When the temperature increases, glaciers and snow melt. Water reaches streams, lakes, seas and oceans again. Observation of Transpiration in Plants A transparent plastic bag is placed around a green leaf of a plant. The mouth of the bag is tightly closed to prevent air leaks. After a while, water droplets appear inside the bag. These water droplets are formed as a result of the water vapor exhaled from the leaf through transpiration turning into liquid. The white trails left behind by planes flying high are also a type of cloud. If the weather is very cold, the water vapor in the exhaust gas emitted by the aircraft condenses and forms a streaked cloud. Rain Meter The amount of precipitation can be measured with a simple rain meter. For this, the top part of a waste plastic bottle is cut off. To prevent it from tipping over, some pebbles and enough water to cover the stones are placed at the bottom of the bottle. Small lines are drawn on the bottle at one centimeter intervals, starting from the top of the water. The upper part of the bottle is turned upside down and placed on the lower part, and secured with a few paper clips. The rain gauge is placed somewhere outdoors. Daily rainfall amounts can be compared with each other by looking at the height of the water in the bottle at a certain time every day. (From the Promotional Bulletin)
