Kurds in the Socialist Soviet Union (1917-1956)

There are very few books, documents and articles written on the Kurds in the Soviet Union. Although this material, which has become "widespread" in recent years, has a certain contribution to the multi-faceted discussion of the subject, its reliability remains weak due to the dominance of a logic that replaces facts with "its own truth". Because some people who directly identify as Soviet Kurds approach the problem with the concern of explaining what they know (!) rather than on a factual basis, it cannot be said that there are many documentary studies that can be used on the subject. In this case, those who wrote the relevant articles instead of documents are in the attitude of presenting themselves as witnesses. There is no doubt that a gross "distortion of history" emerges as a result of this preferred method. In this work, we have tried to respond, among other things, to the distortion of socialist history.
We hope that this study, which deals with the situation of the Kurds under socialism, will make a positive contribution to our people's struggle for freedom...
