“In parallel with the institutional development of the central and local social policy program based on social aid, which emerged as part of the paradigm transformation in social policy under the Justice and Development Party in power (…) in Turkey, various unique forms of relationships, behavioral patterns and ways of thinking have been formed on the basis of social aid. We hear the voices of the poor in every article and interview, from those who apply for social assistance to fill the cash gap or to supplement their income, to the unemployed and semi-unemployed who live entirely on aid.
