Psychopathology of Colonialism
Another characteristic of Adolf Eichmann that is familiar to us is the words "I have Jewish friends" and "I have Jewish neighbors", which he often repeated when he felt cornered to prove that he was not an anti-Semite. How familiar these words sound to us! Whenever a sworn anti-Kurdish person cannot hide his racism and openly attacks those who carry out politics on behalf of the Kurds, as if vomiting hatred, the sentences "I have Kurdish friends" and "I have Kurdish neighbors" immediately follow. Since the character of colonialism is the same, it is not surprising that the words of a Nazi officer and a Turkish intellectual are as similar as Siamese twins. It turns out that everyone has so many Kurdish friends. Here, the words "Kurdish friend" and "Kurdish neighbor" are intended to use the Kurd as the eraser of his own verb. Racism hides behind this curtain of discourse, and the colonialist uses his colony as the eraser for the act he committed against himself. In Fanon's words, "Shouldn't colonialism be put in the dock for this reason alone?"
