Solgun Suçlu
In the hot Berlin summer of 1938, Germany anxiously awaits the outcome of the Munich Conference. Will Hitler drag the country into a war against Europe? Private investigator Bernie Günther is hired by a wealthy widow to find out who is blackmailing her. German police Kripo, on the other hand, hides a case he could not solve from the public so as not to cause panic. Reinhard Heydrich, one of the most powerful men in the SS, temporarily puts former police officer Bernhard Günther in charge of this case with the rank of Kommissar. The ritual-like murders, in which the murderer brutally slaughtered young German girls without leaving any traces, apparently point to Jews. Collecting clues with each new murder, Bernie will find himself deeply involved in a huge conspiracy.
"The Pale Criminal moves through his own brutal labyrinth with breakneck speed and a powerful story."
-The Independentit-
"Philip Kerr gets full marks for his tough work on former Berlin police officer Bernie Günther during the Third Reich."
-The Sunday Times-
"Striking and delightful depictions of evil German leaders, a brilliant tour of Berlin on the edge, and a wry, brave guide."
