Sodom and Gomorrah
Sodom and Gomorrah, which is about Istanbul during the occupation years, is considered the continuation of Judgment Night among Yakup Kadri's novels in terms of time. Although the novel, which is about the decaying environments and rotten personalities of the armistice period, creates the feeling of taking place in a certain period of time, it is seen that behind the events, a grudge against the occupation and "a spirit fermented with rebellion" has developed. Karaosmanoğlu, in a sense, benefits from the wrath of the Gods while weaving his novel in Sodom and Gomorrah, which is a wide panorama that includes Western-admiring Turks, snobs who aspire to be a European, groups in collaboration with imperialists, and the collaborator bourgeoisie.
