The year is 1982. Louis Rosen and Maury Rock, two partners in an unsuccessful company producing electronic organs in Oregon, decide one day to make simulacra of real people who lived during the Civil War. Their first prototype is Edwin Stanton, followed by Abraham Lincoln. While a businessman with dark intentions wants to use Lincoln as a tool for his own purposes, Rosen falls in love with his partner's eighteen-year-old daughter, Pris. However, Pris has been treated for schizophrenia in the past and soon draws Rosen into her own dark world. As Rosen's obsession with Pris grows, his mental health problems increase as well.
