In his novels, in which he reflects daily life in realistic details, people from all social classes of the Victorian period appear, and intertwined themes reinforce each other with contrasts and parallelism. George Eliot was among the major writers who influenced the development of the contemporary novel with the importance he gave to psychological analysis. Silas Marner, which attracts attention with its concise narrative and structural competence, is the author's most famous novel.
