In this study, the change in the meanings of disease and healing in the historical process is discussed. Traditional medicine, modern medicine and alternative medicine are discussed in terms of secularization in the context of the concepts of disease and healing. Religion is the most important phenomenon that has become difficult to understand in today's world. The reflection of modernity on consciousness not only alienated the consciousness from religion, but also removed the religious and religious fields and concepts from their context with the concepts it produced. Nowadays, approaching the subject from the side of modernity, regardless of the field, has become widespread and easily used concepts and terms have been reached. On the other hand, it has become impossible to discuss a field related to religion and to evaluate the subject with religion's own concepts and terms. Of course, the problem is not just a language problem. Modernity historicizes religious concepts, making them debatable and open to different readings and interpretations. In this context, the change in the content of concepts and terms in terms of both religion and modernity has become an important problematic. In terms of religion, meaning has become a hidden quality in the textual. This situation does not have a problematic value in modernity, where concepts and terms are not important in what sense they are used but how they are understood.
