Rupel publications brought the famous work of German author Herman Hesse, winner of the Nobel Prize in Literature in 1946, "Siddartha - An Indian Legend", which has been translated into 54 world languages so far, into Kurdish.

In Siddartha, which was first published in 1922, Hesse offers resources from East-Indian philosophy to the self-search of European intellectuals who were in depression and turmoil after World War I... The search of the novel hero, prince Siddartha, for true knowledge and the meaning of life, is the result of Western intellectuals who are overwhelmed by ideological dogmas. It also expresses that they test themselves within their mysticism. What has kept Hesse's book up-to-date for generations, almost like a "Book of Wisdom" throughout the century, is that it provides a guide to this search for difference and synthesis between Eastern and Western philosophies.

In Siddhartha, which calls people to rebuild their lives and glorifies Eastern mysticism, Hesse describes the first years of Buddha's life in a poetic style and describes man's attempt to get rid of the established forms of civilization by finding his true self.
