On Violence is one of Hannah Arendt's smallest but most striking and controversial books. In this work, Arendt deals with violence as a phenomenon that cannot come together with words and that leaves them helpless when confronted with words/speech: With this feature, violence is outside of politics, On the other hand, according to Arendt, violence tends to be the most dominant political phenomenon in the 20th century. The currentness of war, one of the oldest phenomena of history, and the revolution, which is a product of the modern age, makes violence felt more "violently" than ever before. She discusses this paradox in her book. Arendt's main conclusion is that a world that changes with violence can only be a world in which there is more violence. In today's world where the concepts of terror, terrorism and violence are used with great prevalence and terrifying menacingness, this broad-minded work of Arendt has a special value.
