Those who purify Nâzım of his communism and say "he was actually a great poet of the homeland" and those who tear him away from his homeland and say "his roots were abroad" share one side of hostility towards Nâzım.
In our country, the ideologists and politicians of the capital order label socialism, Marxism, communism, and even all kinds of true progressivism as "foreign". Their roots are outside, they are a youthful enthusiasm and nothing more than a snobbish affectation.
This is related to Nâzım's great stubbornness, which made him grow up and eventually made him a target for communism as important as his party. Nazım both challenged this demagogy of "indigeneity" in which the intellectuals, right-wingers and reactionaries who submitted to the order shared and competed, and also defeated this demagogy with his own struggle and production.
