Hello, I'm Şükran Tanay. Does my name sound familiar? Of course not, where would it come from? Don't strain your memory in vain, you don't know me. I'm just one of the millions of people who tried to tear it off with the dream of becoming famous and rich but couldn't.

It all started the day I sold my story Şekerfare to a film company. Just think, my writings would become movies, and I would become famous and earn crazy money. I would belly dance on the veranda when the guests who came to my mansion on the Bosphorus would lie and say "It gets too humid" and then leave. I would eat crab and drink champagne, and if I got caught by the paparazzi, I would call my manager and have the photos taken away from them.

Dreams are Kim Kardashian, realities are Şükran Nanay. When I had a lot of trouble in that seemingly shiny movie world, I decided to write a book called Şekerfare and tell my experiences one by one. And maybe this time I'll tear it out of the book, who knows?
