Seçme Öyküler 1: Makar Çudra
Aleksey Maksimovich Peshkov's first story was published at the age of twenty-four under the pen name: “Makar Chudra. Written by: Maxim Gorky”. His keen powers of observation, shining through his lively narration, quickly attracted attention. It was understood that this was not a one-shot bullet, and that there was now a working class person in the great Russian literary tradition, with stories such as "Çelkaş", "Arhip Dede and Lyonka", "The Blue-Eyed Woman", "Zazubrina" published one after the other. The name Maksim Gorki was gradually becoming the name of a "class language" in literature.
In this book, which collects the stories of the great Russian writer Maksim Gorki published between 1892-97, some of them were first written by Ayşe Hacıhasanoğlu, one of the respected names of translated literature. There are 26 stories that have been translated into Turkish many times. While watching the development of Gorky's storytelling through chronologically arranged stories, you will occasionally get the feeling that the narrator is Russia itself.
