Selected Fairy Tales (Hoffman) - Hasan Ali Yücel Classics
Ernst Theodor Amadeus Hoffmann (1776-1822): He is the writer who reached the widest readership among the German romantic writers. The most distinctive feature that distinguishes him from other romantic writers is that his imagination and fantasies are closely connected to the real world and daily life. Hoffmann, who was also a remarkable musician, also served as conductor and composer at the Bamberg Theatre. He inspired composers such as Offenbach, Busoni and Reinecke with his writing rather than his compositions. Tchaikovsky was inspired by Hoffmann's tales in The Nutcracker and Delibes in Coppelia. Freud's analysis of Nathanael, the hero of his tale The Sandman, is one of the most famous articles written on his works.
