Not using concepts appropriately causes confusion, thus making it difficult to understand reality. This often manifests itself consciously, and sometimes as a category of habit. In any case, there is no such thing as 'misunderstanding' for any other concept in this world as in the concept of intellectual. There is one more thing: It would not be an exaggeration to say that Turkey is one of the leading countries, if not the country where such negativity is most clearly experienced. For example, in France, no one would think of considering themselves 'intellectual' just because they received a university education. A primary school teacher in our country starts his speech with "Personally, as an intellectual..." This attitude has been taken to such an extreme that, once upon a time, knowing the Latin alphabet was enough to be considered an intellectual.
