Selected Intimacies, Goethe's novel about marriage and partnership, which has been considered a masterpiece for many years, tells the story of a couple who live on their own, whose peace is disrupted by the arrival of two visitors to their home. The couple's marriage loses its peace with unexpected emotions and a forbidden love.
