Sarı Gelin
XII. Towards the end of the century, there was a tribe struggling for dominance in Northeastern Anatolia and the Caucasus: Cumans. Some of these blonde Turks adopted the Gregorian sect and gave their children Armenian names, while some of them adopted the Orthodox sect and gave Georgian names to their children. Some of the Cumans who managed to preserve their ethnic identity also chose Islam.
The Crusades, encouraged by the idea of robbery, destruction and plunder, also affected them, and the Cumans fell into a religious-sectarian conflict. In a way, this was the war of a single nation believing in two different religions. While these were happening, Sheikh Senan, the master of Baghdad saints, set out for the Caucasus with a group of forty dervishes to explain the provisions of the Quran. They say that the dervish's path and suffering never end.
They finally reached Bana Castle. Sheikh Senan fell in love with Kuman Hatun, the beautiful daughter of Bana Beyi, in the castle where he went to preach. In this test, which turned into infatuation over time, Sheikh Senan set out on another dangerous journey to the Bekaa Valley to make the impossible possible. Kuman Hatun converted to Islam and became Kuman Gelin. A great danger awaited the two lovers, whose only wish was to escape together and go to the land of Islam, in the Allahuekber Mountains.
