They say that everyone in Turkey is a poet!

In order not to embarrass those who say this, I have been writing poetry since the day I learned to write.
I wrote poems and fairy tales for my children. As my friends turned twenty, thirty, forty, fifty, sixty, seventy, and my father turned eighty, I wrote congratulatory poems for them; I expressed the memories of our fun travels, our pleasant days, and even the feelings of my saddest moments, not in prose, but in the form of poetry. When Bennu Gerede asked me to write captions for the paintings of the Surrender exhibition in 2008, I had another poem in mind.
Among my poems, only the one I wrote for my father in 1983 was able to reach readers nineteen years after it was written on the occasion of a "Father's Day". The others always remained hidden.

When my publisher decided to collect my stories in a single book, he suggested that I also turn my poems into a book. I first objected to the readers meeting the lines that had been waiting on the notebook pages for years, but the poems did not agree with me; They started whispering among themselves. They wanted to breathe, to become flesh and blood, to participate in life... In the end, I bowed to them.

There are a few hidden poems in the book in your hands, and only one of the lines waiting for its music... the one that has received its music. I hope you enjoy what I chose...
