Sahicilik Jargonu
A polemical book, Authenticity Jargon. Here, Adorno targets the language used by German existentialists such as Heidegger, Jaspers and Buber, and the "jargon" that confuses the thought of these thinkers. He claims that this jargon applied by existentialism destroys the very calls for meaning and freedom that they claim to be trying to realise. According to him, although this language claims to address the issue of freedom, it in no way succeeds in revealing the unfreedom inherent in capitalism, and it has no intention of doing so. On the contrary, just like the culture industry does, but this time it fosters cheap optimism, social inertia and pseudo-individualization in people who think they are keeping a distance from this industry.
This is a book whose importance and urgency increases even more considering that Heidegger's thought has an influence far beyond the borders of his country today. Moreover, the fight between truly critical thought and the so-called critical "authentic" thought, which constantly talks about freedom while actually legitimizing new forms of conservatism and new ways of "aligning", continues to intensify.
