The book in your hands, when the stages of design, preparation and writing are taken into account, is the product of Faik Bulut's labor of approximately 10 years. Faik Bulut, whom we know from his research on various subjects such as Alevism without Ali, How Did We Come from Khorasan? Dersim Reports, focuses on the Safavid State and Shah Ismail in this new book titled Shah Ismail's Serencamı - From Kızılbaştan to Şi'i.
Various articles and books have been written about the aforementioned subjects both in the world and in Turkey. However, their content varies according to the disposition of the author. Faik Bulut discovered these differences in his studies and wanted to convey them to the reader from an impartial point of view in this work he wrote on the subject.
Faik Bulut has dealt with almost every aspect of the Safavid State and its founder Shah Ismail, and has made a multi-dimensional description of that period in order to give an objective view of it; he has presented it to the reader in a satisfactory manner with its positive and negative aspects.
Our author, in his work Shah Ismail's Serencamı - From Kizilbash to Shiism - has drawn a rather objective portrait of Shah Ismail by looking at what has been written about him in history, without expressing an opinion such as "is he good or bad". He has included the "Harem" incident in the Safavid palace, which is not well known to the Alevis, and has also touched upon some of Shah Ismail's lesser-known characteristics, including being a Kizilbash poet.
