Marcel Liebman's work fills the gap [about the Russian Revolution] very well. The author has managed to summarize a huge amount of basic information about almost all aspects of the revolution and its historical environment in a small place; It has revealed a tidy, lively and curious story of the events. He explains the events with the seriousness he deserves, but he does this in a sweet and moving style. Indeed, he has been able to summarize the current state of knowledge on the subject in a comfortable and understandable manner. It appeals to large masses of the public without falling into the extremes of simplifying the subject for the public and without oversimplifying the complex problems it has to address. Liebman explains and analyzes the events with exemplary sincerity and objectivity. This work is so perfect and so valuable in its entirety that I wholeheartedly recommend its reading and hope that it will reach the wide readership it deserves and will be given its full value.
