Resos - Hasan Ali Yücel Klasikleri
Euripides (c.484-406 BC): He has a special place as the artist whose most works have survived to the present day among the three great tragic poets produced by Athens. This feature is attributed to the fact that he was a more admired poet among the public, even though he did not win the first prize as much as Aeschylus and Sophocles at the festivals. In his tragedies, Euripides aimed to educate the souls by displaying the wrong attitudes and thoughts that lead people to destruction and by showing possible disasters in advance, and his heroes also have human weaknesses and flaws. The inspiration for the Resos tragedy is the painful death of King Resos, described in Homer's Iliad. In this tragedy, Euripides also emphasized the responsibility of being a king and the bad aspects of war.
