Psychotherapy and Religion
In one of his fundamental works, Psychotherapy and Religion, Viktor E. Frankl, unlike Freud, who considered religion as a fiction of the Superego, and Jung, who tried to explain religiosity with purely instinctual motifs, did not reject the unconscious character of the spirit, but argued that religious belief is connected to the unconscious but is completely unconscious. It suggests that there is a phenomenon that cannot be explained. Believing in the existence of a creator is a decision, that is, it is more related to the level of consciousness. Psychotherapy should take this important point into consideration when identifying and resolving mental problems.
