Piggle-The Story of a Little Girl's Treatment with Psychoanalysis
Piggle is the pseudonym of psychoanalyst Donald W. Winnicott's child client Gabrielle, whom he saw from age two to five. This book consists of Winnicott's notes taken during psychoanalytic interviews that took place irregularly, in his own words, "on demand" and his correspondence with the child's parents.
Piggle is a unique case study that shows the functioning of the psychoanalytic process "from the inside" through the establishment of the transference relationship between the leading representative of object relations theory and child psychoanalysis and his little patient who started having nightmares after his sister was born, the application of the specific play technique and the development of the patient's inner world.
