Pierre Bourdieu'nün Kuramı ve Sosyolojik Kullanımları

Among the French sociologists of the 20th century, Pierre Bourdieu is the best known in the world today and his sociological method is the most discussed. The aim of Bourdieu, the founder of a new social theory based on key concepts such as habitus, symbolic violence or space, is to reveal the reality of social relations and to criticize these relations more effectively. The authors discuss the works of this sociologist, who has produced a wide range of works, in three sections: His epistemological evaluations about the profession of sociology; the original concepts he added to research in areas such as school and culture; the theory of social space he proposed. They also consider some of the sociologists who participated in or were inspired by Bourdieu's research and map the sociological circle called the Bourdieu school. This book, which serves as an introduction to Bourdieu's sociology, presents Bourdieu's contributions to sociology and the criticisms he received, and provides the opportunity to evaluate the remarkable impact of this sociological approach on today's world of thought.
