Unlike his predecessors, Thucydides, who described the Peloponnesian Wars between the Athenians and Spartans in great detail, created a brand new experience thanks to his focus on a specific subject, his emphasis on chronology, his cause-effect relationships of events, and his absence of supernatural forces in his work. He became the founder of the understanding of history.
