Back Side of the Veil

"What goes on in the minds of Middle Eastern people or what lies behind this veil arouses curiosity and confusion."

The Middle East has always been a mystery to Westerners, and the extensive literature on this region; It oscillates between romance and demonization, attraction and repulsion.

Drawing on the ten years of experience I spent in the Middle East, I tried to convey in my book the social world that shapes the sex life of the Arab society in a more nuanced way than previously described. In my book, I tried to convey that sexuality in the Middle East is as variable, as elusive, diverse and sometimes inert as in the West, and that it is expressed in various ways, as it is everywhere in the world. While Aisha, the Prophet's wife, complained about the shameful behavior of women even a few years after her husband's death, XIII. By the 19th century, Egyptian historians were busy documenting how some women shamelessly offered their moral vices for sale to men. Nowadays, prostitution has become such an escalated issue. Even in Al Jazeera television's most popular program called "The Wrong Direction", prostitution was the subject of a fierce debate. In this program, which focused on the pros and cons of mass tourism in the Arab world, gay sex tourism, AIDS and "cheap meat" were discussed with the frankness that Westerners are accustomed to seeing on their television screens.
