“According to the stories told, in the old days there lived a very intelligent hunter with strong trap-setting skills. This hunter never returned empty-handed from any hunt he went to. Sometimes, even in hunting expeditions where he joined hunters from other clans, he would be the leader of the hunters and would chase the prey for weeks, sometimes even months. He also had a shaman friend who was a master old hunter just like him. He made it a habit to receive the prophecies that shamans present to hunters at the end of a ceremony, which is a very old hunter tradition, from this shaman. Since the shaman was also an old hunter, his experiences allowed him to present accurate prophecies. The experiences of old hunting activities would be quite useful in showing them which way to go and where they could reach the game animals. However, there were still times when the prophecies did not come true. In those times, they would take refuge in the fact that the animal totem gods that the clans considered themselves subject to did not want that hunt to happen.
One day, the cunning and intelligent hunter began to question his entire life up until that point, deep in thought during a hunt. First, his eyes fixated on the blood of the animal he had killed that had gotten on his hands. He wondered how he could explain the fact that the color of the animal’s blood was the same as his own when he was wounded: he couldn’t find an answer. Then, questions began to pile up in his head one after another. While he could hunt animals by deceiving them, tricking them, trapping them, and shedding their blood, he began to question why it was wrong to do so towards humans. While animals, just like humans, were seen as valuable and soulful creatures, he began to wonder why it was forbidden to exhibit these behaviors towards animals, towards humans and all living things in nature…”
