Charles Baudelaire (1821-1867): In addition to his The Flowers of Evil published in 1857, he is one of the most important modern masters who renewed literature in the 19th century with his Poe translations and critical writings that he introduced to Europe. This work, which includes Baudelaire's private diaries consisting of Rays and My Open Heart and some correspondence, carries important information about Baudelaire's view of the world and art, and his personal life. My Open Heart also brought a modern breath to the "Confession" tradition established by Jean-Jacques Rousseau in French literature.
